She even goes so far as to reveal the secrets of Wanxiang Pavilion (晚香阁), a key location in the case of Ling Yunfei (凌云飞), a wanted fugitive. Liu Ruyan (柳如烟), the master of the pavilion, is closely linked to Ling Yunfei, and she orders a regular supply of herbal baths from Situ Xue’s shop. By providing this information, Situ Xue proves her worth as an ally, further solidifying her place in Meng Tinghui’s good graces.

The real turning point, however, lies in the identity of Mr. Shangguan. It is revealed that the elusive leader of the Blood Moon Society is actually Yin Qing (尹清), a close associate of Meng Tinghui. The banquet is a social event meant to increase the family’s prestige. Ling Yunfei poisons the wine with Endless Pill, causing many guests to lose their pulses. He would not waste a rare antidote on the Zhao family’s guests. Their survival or death holds no strategic value for him. They are not essential to his mission.
