I’m a very huge fan of The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion, and I always envisioned the elves as wearing hanfu. So here’s my cosplay of Fingon from the Silmarillion! (i accidentally left the belt at home 😭). I chose a Tang dynasty style round collar top from 等云来原创国风铺子 on Taobao! I also plan to do more cosplay like this in the future! Enjoy (:

Interesting view. I think the Peter Jackson movies did use mandarin elements on the male elves, and it suit them. However I don’t see Elves in Middle Earth adorning such relaxed, loose garments, since they are pretty much always under the pressure of impeding war, but in Valinor, sure, it would be nice! ^^
yeah! i definitely wanted to reflect Fingon’s status as a prince of the Noldor and as an archer. it probably would have worked better if the robe fit me a bit better, but alas! im tiny lol
Love it! I agree the high elves would look stunning in hanfu. I wear some of my hanfu with elf ears. It just goes together very well.

hi! so I’m planning my next Silmarillion hanfu cosplay, and this time I want to cosplay Beren. Beren is a wandering outlaw hero who lives in the wild while fighting evil, so i think he’d fit the wandering hero archetype quite well. does anyone have advice for reputable shops/brands/sets that would match this look? Sorry, don’t know any brands, but based on those photos, I feel like you could find modern everyday clothes to layer on to get the same effect. Since it’s layered like that I think you could gamble on ordering a basic Wei style layer.
I hope it goes up on newhanfu. But ni meng’s other hanfu are also very nice

I like 3. Beren needs to be rugged, and I thinks the first 2 are too tame. He’s also a prince, so, rugged but still dignified. So that’s 3 for me.
