How to judge the quality of a hanfu?
Is there a simple and feasible way? Thanks😊

I usually check the type of fabric and how it feels to the touch, whether it is comfortable.

I pay too much attention to whether the hanfu looks good or not, and I don’t really know how to judge the quality😂😂

Material, pattern, workmanship, embroidery, I am mainly concerned about these aspects.

The most basic thing to look at is whether there are extra threads, the flatness of the embroidery, whether there are color differences, and the comfort level of the material. Then there is the degree of fit, skirt length, sleeve length is not too long or too short.

It’s totally possible, but I think it requires a lot of skill. A sewing machine can do a better job of sewing in a straight line. If you own a hanfu, you can make observations about the stitching and there are parts that require multiple stitches.

😥😥Yes, but I don’t even have a basic sewing machine. I had to turn to a professional tailor ……

Sewing machines were only invented in the 19th century, so traditionally all hanfu would be hand seen. I think as long as you can do a running stitch, running back stitch, and a slip stitch, you should be fine.

The difference between ru and shan in hanfu
I know they are different styles, but what are their specific differences?
And I heard someone sayings that qixiong ruqun should be called qixiong shanqun? Is this correct?

Simply defined, the bottom half of Run (the rectangular part) is spliced on.

It depends specifically on what style the top is, if the top is ru, then it should be called Qixiong Ruqun. The top of the Qixiong Shanqu is shan, and in many styles of the Tang dynasty, usually used the shan as top.
LiangYuZuan · 2022-03-02 10:40:15
What I notice is the ru is shorter than shan. Its main function is to cover torso to waist length and needs qun or qixiong to cover the rest of the body. Shan can be longer similar to a jacket length and worn either under or outer when complementing qun

Oh, you are right! The ru sleeves are often narrow compared shan that can be wide and varies.
