Hanzhong Han Culture Exhibition: 7 Masters On Display Until August

On July 11, 2026, the “Contemporary Treasures, Future Heritage” (当代精品·未来遗产) inaugural Han Culture ICH Fine Art Exhibition opened at the Hanzhong Xinghan Shengjing Han Yuefu (汉中兴汉胜境汉乐府). Running through August 31, the exhibition features seven national-level ICH masters as its core highlight, integrating ICH master lectures, hands-on ICH workshops, interactive public competitions, and nighttime live performances into a full-timeslot cultural tourism consumption system spanning art appreciation, cultural study, craft experience, and nighttime leisure.

Cultural Scholar Wei Xin Opens with Lecture

On opening day, Wei Xin (魏新), the youngest lecturer in the history of the acclaimed “Lecture Room” (百家讲坛) program and a noted cultural scholar and author, delivered a keynote lecture. The talk followed three main threads — Han cultural roots, traditional ICH techniques, and cultural inheritance — exploring the contemporary value of traditional culture and ICH craftsmanship, and analyzing how digital technology and innovative methods can empower ICH preservation, revitalization, and dissemination. A parent-child ICH study classroom opened simultaneously, offering families a face-to-face immersive learning experience with master artisans.

Seven Narrative Chapters

The exhibition gathers national-level ICH originals across multiple categories: Ou sculpture (瓯塑), Dongyang wood carving, red carved lacquer, traditional copper carving, and Han white-jade stone seals. It connects three core venues — Xinghan City Exhibition Hall (兴汉城市展览馆), Han Culture Museum (汉文化博物馆), and Han Yuefu (汉乐府) — planning seven cultural narrative chapters: Heavenly Treasures, Beginning of Heaven and Earth, Gate of Heaven-Han, Wisdom of the Sages, and others, systematically presenting Han Dynasty material civilization, ritual thought, and urban life.

Over 20 Living ICH Hands-On Stations

Throughout the scenic area, more than 20 living ICH hands-on experience stations are deployed. At the Xinghan City Exhibition Hall, visitors can try cloisonné enamel filling, ICH tin-foil relief painting, and the AI chess “Han Xin’s Checkmate Challenge.” At the Han Culture Museum, offerings include copper rubbing, lacquer fan making, woodblock print rubbing, handmade sachets, ancient papermaking, and Han Dynasty rouge preparation — with options for both free and paid deep experiences. A concurrent “AI Paints Han Treasures — Xinghan Shengjing AI Video Creation Competition” invites visitors to translate static exhibition viewing into participatory, takeaway cultural experiences.

Han Costume Styling and Nighttime Economy

The scenic area uses the “Tianhan Legend” (天汉传奇) nighttime performance as its core nighttime draw, building a “nighttime scenic visit + urban consumption” closed loop. A Han-style accommodation package includes scenic tickets, breakfast for two, full Hanfu styling and makeup, and ancient-street nighttime photography sessions. The Hanren Laojie (汉人老家街) district offers themed night sessions with weekly Saturday Hanfu-themed social events, recreating Han Dynasty urban social scenes. The performance also includes a “Han River Star Search” interactive egg, while coordinating with Hanzhong city hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and transportation merchants to offer nighttime cross-promotion discounts, extending the scenic-area visitor flow to the entire city to boost nighttime consumption.

Building a Han Culture Tourism Brand

This summer event aggregates scarce, top-tier ICH resources, strings together full-timeslot visitor itineraries, and integrates viewing, check-in, hands-on crafting, study, and performances into a one-stop immersive Han culture experience covering all age groups. By stepping beyond a single scenic-area operation model and linking various city commercial formats to extend the consumption chain, the exhibition deepens the integration of national-level ICH resources with urban cultural tourism, activating summer visitor traffic and increasing operational revenue while projecting Hanzhong’s Han cultural city image — building a nationally recognizable Han culture tourism brand.
