Can anyone share what is the difference between the Bai Die skirt and the Ma Mian skirt?
It seems that both two skirt is pleated, and then there is a part without pleats.

They are not the same. The Baidie skirt is left unpleated on both sides, with a full smooth pleat in the middle. The Mamian skirt belong to pleated skirt, with two pieces, a skirt head, and both skirts are pleated.

Baidie skirt is popular in the Song Dynasty. And the Ma Mian skirt is popular in the Ming Dynasty, there are four non-pleated areas that overlap each other.
