Royal Feast vs Story of Yanxi Palace
Royal Feast is a drama set in the ming dynasty, while Story of Yanxi Palace is set in the qing dynasty. Which one do you like better?
As styling, I prefer the former. But Yanxi’s plot is a little more exciting.

Wu’s looks in both dramas are stunning, and even more so in Shangshi. But Yanxi, obviously, has more continuity and excitement than Shangshi, and it’s a good thing the latter has mouth-watering food to make up for it.

I think that connection of modern and ancient time is becoming more popular. In Europe we have lots of fairytales with princesses and princes. And China has wealthier history and culture than some small European country, so I think that there is lots of topics that can be used.

I don’t think formal hanfus will be used if it’s a xuanhuan and martial arts type of drama. They need costumes that are more ethereal and have character.
